Sep 20, 2018 Letters
With reference to two articles published on Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15, 2018, Mr. Peter Persaud complained about the sub-standard work done by a contactor carrying out a sea defence project on Fort Island.
Mr. Persaud stated that the residents of Fort Island are complaining about the work that was done.
As a regular visitor to the Island, I have not heard anyone complain about the work, which was carried out. I walked around the Project and I have not seen any breaches in the Sea-defence.
In the letter, he also stated that the contractor owes $50,000 to one resident for work done.
Mr. Persaud does not know what goes on the Island. I do not know what position he has, but he does not ask the residents their opinion.
Maybe the person who is owed the money by the contractor is giving Mr. Persaud the so-called opinion of the rest of the Islanders.
I think Region Three sea defence engineers should visit the Project, and put an end to the rumours.
Fort Island is a lovely peaceful little Island, and we cannot have one person coming and causing an upheaval.
An Admirer of Fort Island
