The area of concern is radiation, with people living or working in close vicinity of Cellular Tower (base-stations) will get the highest exposures. People sleeping in homes will also have nighttime exposure and a phone can be turned off, but a cell tower cannot. Scientists link this radiation to diseases, both long-term and short-term ; cancer, infertility, DNA, damage, damage to foetuses, sleep problems, memory and behaviour problems and many others.
The World Health Organization International Agency for research says that radiation from towers are more dangerous because they emit greater-intensity radiation 24×7.
I am living between the G.T.T and Digicel Cellular Towers in Diamond on the East Bank of Demerara, Guyana and would like the respective agencies, Ministry of Health and the Environment Protection, reply in your letter column as to how safe the close residents (babies to elders) with regards to these radiation towers.
Yours sincerely.
Parmanand Ram.
