Aug 16, 2018 Letters
For the past weeks I have been complaining of the unsanitary and clogged drains in the La Jalousie community. It is with dismay that I pen this letter .
Several complaints were made to the La Jalousie/ Nouvelle Flanders NDC while a number of telephone calls were made to the Overseer. On all occasions the Overseer related that whenever he asked to send the labourers to the community they are sent elsewhere.
Whenever the rain falls my yard is flooded due to the clogged drains. I tried to keep my drains clean but it is the NDC’s responsibility to do that. Other neighbours and residents share similar sentiments.
Residents believe that nothing is being done for our community while other villages such as Windsor Forest are favored. It is a fact that all the capital works and programmes budgeted to happen in Windsor Forest while other communities like ours are left on the sidelines.
Why is this so?
It has been three years since the new council took over and the chairman and council continue to do whatever they feel like and neglect residents who put them there. It is total ignorance by the NDC chairman who residents believe is very rude and incompetent.
To the chairman and councillors of the Lajalousie/Nouvelle Flanders NDC , please get this right! Local government elections are just around the corner.
Sincerely,
Concerned resident
