Eighteen-year-old, Ron Lehman, of Philippine Village, Kamarang, appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on July 15, last, Lehman at the Essequibo Magistrates’ District with intention to commit murder, wounded Terrily Fredrick. He was not required to plead to the charge after it was read to him by the magistrate.
Lehman was represented by Attorney-at-law, Clyde Forde. “The defendant is a young 18-year-old man and has never being convicted before for any matter,” explained the lawyer to the court. He asked the magistrate for bail at a reasonable sum.
Prosecutor Sang Singh said he had no objection to bail being granted to the defendant but asked that conditions be attached to the bail.
The magistrate, after listening to the prosecutor’s submission permitted Lehman’s bail of $150,000 and gave conditions that required the defendant to report every Monday at Kamarang Police Station until the completion of the trial.
