The Guyana Marketing Corporation on Friday launched its Agro-processors Exhibition in an effort to continue sensitising the public to the availability of locally manufacture products.
The company will be featuring two local businesses each week outside the Republic Bank’s Robb Street entrance.
This exhibition will be held every Wednesday and Friday throughout the month of July.
Last Friday, the first two local businesses to showcase their exhibitions were UMANI and INAVA.
UMANI sells a wide array of condiments while INAVA sells lemonade and water.
“The response from the public today (last Friday) was great, people came out and supported, they loved the products,” said Iana, a representative from UMAMI.
Aliyah from INAVA echoed the same sentiments.
“We are happy to have been given the opportunity to come out here today, the people showed up and really supported, today’s (last Friday) event was awesome,” she explained.
Persons at the event were able to sample lemonades from the INAVA brand while UMAMI gave away hampers and other products from their line of condiments to persons who purchased from the exhibition last Friday.
UMANI is a local brand that provides various items to the public such as barbeque sauce, hot sauce, garlic sauce and ketchup. These products are all currently on the local market.
While IVANA, has been providing the public with lemonade as well as purified water.
Their wide range of lemonade consists of guava, strawberry and soursop just to name a few.
They have been in existence for over four years and they have recently started exporting their products in the Caribbean.
The Guyana Marketing Corporation has, over the years, organised promotional opportunities for Local Agro-processors. They promote the sale and consumption of locally produced and manufactured non-traditional agriculture produce and products, in addition to many other services.
The next Agro-processors will be out on Wednesday at the same location. The event is expected to be held every Wednesday and Fridays throughout the month of July and ends on August 27.
Other products expected to be out there are honey, cassava bread, soaps, coconut oils, among many others.
