Drunk brother kills sibling who ate his food
A 57-year-old man was in custody last night after allegedly beating his 61-year-old brother to death for eating out his food.
The incident occurred at around 19:15 hrs.
Police identified the dead man as Nazir Khan, called ‘Kari, an unemployed resident of Lot 37 Bella Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara. The suspect is a porter at a waste disposal entity.
According to reports, the suspect, who had imbibed in alcohol, gave Khan money and asked him to purchase a meal. Khan reportedly bought the food, but ate it out on the way back.
When he returned, a fight broke out between the brothers, with Khan getting the worse of the exchange.
He reportedly fled to a neighbour’s yard, where he collapsed and died shortly afterwards.
His brother was subsequently taken into custody.
