Following the premature adjournment of their Ordinary General Meeting on April 21st last due to some of the member clubs being unable to tender evidence that they were eligible to participate, the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) as guided by the Guyana Football Federation has set July 10 as the new date for their Ordinary General Meeting at the Leonora Track and Field Facility from 18:00hrs.
The GFF’s Electoral Committee Representative had brought an end to proceedings in April and had reported to the GFF accordingly. Subsequently, the federation had written the clubs informing them that they must convene their AGM’s by May 25th last supervised by the GFF failing which, they would be deemed non compliant.
The WDFA, led by Orin Ferrier is now going full steam ahead to get the meeting off so that they can get back to the smooth running of the game from an administrative standpoint.
Kaieteur Sport understands that the eligible clubs are Pouderoyen, Eagles, Uitvlugt Warriors (AGM held), Wales, Vegae Boys, Zeelught and Jetty Gunners. Stewartville had held their AGM as stipulated but has only registered eight senior players and no junior team.
The current executive reads: Orin Ferrier (President), Christine Schmidt (First VP), Alexander Clarke (Second VP), Dillon Elexey (Third VP), Adrian Giddings (Secretary), Dillon Josiah (Treasurer), Kip Austin (Assistant Secretary/Treasurer). Committee Members are Travis Bess, Adio Wright, Orvil Bobb and Leroy Chilcott.
