Guyana can be the breadbasket of the Caribbean again

Let us make Guyana the bread basket of the Caribbean again. Can we do it? Yes, we can! After Emancipation freed slaves had to provide food, clothes, and shelter for themselves.
They cultivated lands they once slaved on by doing so; they were able to provide enough food for consumption and sale with the profit they made. Thus, they were able to purchase the plantation they slaved on; for example, Plantation Buxton, Plantation Belfield, and many more.
When indenture servants arrived in Guyana they were able to provide food for them farming/agriculture which was always profitable and is still one of the most secure and profitable investments one can make. However, America became the food capital of the world by growing more food than they can consume and exporting the surplus. They produced and processed most of what they need and left foot prints in the sand of economic development.
If we walk in their foot prints we can achieve the same success. Guyana once produced and exported fruits, vegetable, plantain, beef, pork, fish, and farm animals just to name a couple of things.
By producing and exporting we can maintain a strong dollar and avoid capital flight. Can we do it? Yes, we can!
