A confident Guyana will be participating in the Inter Guiana Games (IGG) Under-19 under the auspices and full financing of the National Sports Commission (NSC). The games will be hosted by Suriname from August 24-28, next.
Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) has announced their 12-member team and management team which would be led by Head Coach Abdulla Hamid, Troy Greene as Team Manager and Kirk Fraser as Assistant Coach.
The team reads: Stanton Rose (Kwakwani), Jermaine King (Berbice), Akeem Crandon (Georgetown), Timothy Thompson (Georgetown), Kevon Wiggins (Berbice), Shamar France (Berbice), Nigel Bowen (East Coast Demerara), Jahleel Young (Georgetown), Aton Fileen (East Coast Demerara), Jamal Gilkes (Kwakwani), Akil Vaughn (East Bank Demerara), Andrew Johnson (East Coast Demerara).
The team will be encamped from August 16-23 at the National Gymnasium, with daily practice sessions, from 08:00 to 11:00hrs and 15:00 to 18:00hrs at the Cliff Anderson Sport Hall.
