Vergenoegen Boxing Tournament cancelled
The Vergenoegen Boxing Gym (VBG), ‘Nuff Cuff’ tournament that was scheduled for July 3 but was subsequently re-scheduled for July 31st, has now been cancelled.
According to VBG Head, Clifton Moore, among the reasons for the cancellation is the current prolonged rainy season and the fact that two of the gyms, GDF and Republican will not be able to field boxers for the rescheduled date for the open air event.
”So as it with these factors in mind that we at the Vergenoegen Boxing Gym are deeply sorry for this but we are however looking to see how the year runs and will try to make another approach to host the boxing tournament in December or February of next year.”
The VBG is extending thanks to Mr. Javed Ali and the staff of Slingerz Family Entertainment for trying every effort possible to host this tournament not only for the West Side but more so for the people of Vergenoegen.
Gratitude was also extended to Courts Guyana, Ansa McAl through their Ginseng brand and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
