Ministers deserve the perks that come from sacrifices they made

Dear Editor,
“Fortune knocks once at every man’s door” Apparently fortune isn’t knocking “hard enough” at some person’s door. I want your readers to follow with me carefully in a letter published on the 8th of July in the media and I quote,” I think Minister Broomes is missing the essential point.
It is about renting a house fit for kings ($500,000 a month) compared to the average rental which can be afforded by policemen, nurses, teachers, civil servants, taxi-drivers and senior clerks in private businesses ($45,000 to $90,000 a month). Many of these categories of workers earn an average monthly salary of $100,000 or less.” (end of quote).
Can the lecturers, attorneys, judges, chancellors, advisors and distinguished English Language teachers please assist me with understanding that point? A famous songwriter once said,” If you can’t say something good about somebody, just shut up.” These three individuals who will be announced later in this letter better take note of that song. My fellow Guyanese being a Minister (be it junior or senior) means that you are a “high social ranking” individual, it clearly states that,” you have worked your way up to the top, by having to endure many restless and sleepless nights and it also means having to leave yourself penniless and imperfect to fit other people’s wants, beliefs and needs and after doing all of these tasks your body needs rest
Minister Simona Broomes is resting because she “deserved it (luxuriously),” but as I can see quite well is that Mr. Mike Persaud, Mr. Adam Harris and Dr. David Hinds are all pointing fingers and talking about “Insensitivity, Fairness and Decency” the only insensitive, unfair and indecent thing about it, are you sour-grapes people “feeding on other people’s success”. Somebody was speaking about the Philippine President wife’s shoes, (talk about insensitive irrelevance).
I know that your readers are aware that these three sour grapes people live in homes worth more than $30 Million dollars.
If these people had principles of business skills and experience, they would have multiplied $500,000 by 12 months, then that amount by 4 years, that is equal to approximately $24 Million dollars far way less than the price of those three’s homes (apparently Mr. Persuad is trying to say that nurses, teachers etc., can’t afford a $24 Million dollar home)
The government is just paying the $24 million dollars in installments of 5% a month and my people if you still agree with Persaud, Harris and Hinds, you can further it to the inquisitorial system because people that behave in this manner are the reason why we are termed a “Banana Republic and a Failing Economy”.
Advise to the naysayers “before you naysay take a good look at yourself and your environment”. And I close my argument by saying, “Let us co-operate for Guyana.”
