Glad that the President and Opposition Leader are in dialogue
Dear Editor,
It is good news that President David Granger and Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo have decided to meet and consult on the nomination/appointment of the GECOM Chairman. We recall that Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo had submitted two lists for GECOM Chairman which were duly rejected by President David Granger. So a discussion on the way forward is appropriate, as discussion is necessary in dealing with disputes.
Once they start talking to each other, rather than at each other, then they will learn how to listen and trust each other. I hope that the discussion proves fruitful and that this dispute can be resolved quickly. Kudos to both Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo and President David Granger.
