Prisoner recaptured after scaling station fence
Quick action by the police resulted in the arrest of a man, who scaled the East Ruimveldt Police
The suspect being escorted back to the outpost.
Outpost early yesterday in an attempt to escape from custody.
The suspect, who was being detained at the outpost for a simple larceny matter, was spotted jumping over the fence by residents, who raised an alarm.
Kaieteur News was informed that ranks from inside the outpost ran out and gave chase behind the suspect.
When the man was eventually arrested, he was covered in blood. It is unclear as to whether he sustained injuries when he scaled the fence.
Reports are that the suspect tried to escape after asking to use the washroom.
