Former Guyana U-15 left arm spinner Imran Khan won the best bowler award when the Hawaiian Arctic Cricket Club (HACC) held its 2016 annual awards ceremony recently in Canada.
Khan, who also plays for Good Success Sports Club in Wakenaam, grabbed 18 wickets in seven games in the Scarborough League with this best being 4-20. Khan’s best with the bat was 89 and his efforts were instrumental in his team finishing at the top of the points table.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport, Khan said that playing in the league has helped him to develop his all-round ability. “Playing on different surfaces there I had to adjust quickly because the competition for places in the team is high and this has helped to improve my strengths and weaknesses,” he said.
Khan has expressed gratitude to his team mates.
