A man, who identified himself as Vijay Singh attempted to rob a Camp Street, Georgetown
house while the owner was in his bedroom.
According to information, the man entered through an open door and began packing items into a bag.
A neighbour saw and started shouting for the owner, who was in his bedroom in the upper flat of the property.
According to police sources, the owner claimed that he heard the neighbour calling but ignored at first but after hearing the woman calling repeatedly, he decided to venture out.
By then, the suspect had run away with a carpet. “The man said he ran through some street and he saw his carpet. When he looked through some crack, he saw the man hiding.”
Kaieteur News was told that the suspect was picked up at New Market Street and dropped off at the police station.
