Dear Editor;
I was very surprised to read in a recent edition (KN 11th November, 2016) about the serious allegations of mismanagement of projects and misdirection or questionable use of taxpayers’ money at the Institute of Applied Science and Technology, which is currently.
I was further surprised not to read of the mistreatment of workers at the IAST by the person the letter referred to as a senior staff. It appears that Mr. David Sookram has either forgotten to mention this or has deliberately left it out of his letter to the editor. I am writing this letter to correct this omission from Mr. Sookram’s letter because I feel that the workers are very important to the IAST and that their constant mistreatment by this big wig is responsible for their low morale. This scientist always uses foul language in front of all the workers and makes threats to males and females alike, and such disrespectful behaviour results in tension in the work place.
As a blatant example of his boorish and contemptible behaviour, late last year, he threatened and then physically assaulted an elderly security guard, and then had his own personal bodyguard physically throw the old man out of the IAST compound. The next working day, this senior staff member dismissed the old security guard from the IAST. I wish to add my voice to that of Mr. David Sookram in calling his Excellency President David Granger to immediately establish a Commission of Inquiry into the overall management of the IAST. This is all I am asking. That and only that!

This newspaper must not allow people with personal axes to grind to use its letter to the Editor pages to do so . Just from the tone of the past two letters i can tell they were written with personal vendettas .
The petty and frilous examples given makes me conclude these letters are being written by ex employees who are angry .
