Dear Editor,
The appointment of the Public Procurement Commission by President Granger is a good decision since it has now severed the procurement process away from the politicians into the hands of people who are expected to act professional. Much is expected from Mrs. Carol Corbin and Dr. Nanda Gopaul as the more experienced appointee, in guiding this team into staying professional at all time. The Guyanese people have lost too many billions because the procurement process was in the hands of politicians. Good luck to them and good luck to an old Bishops girl Ms. Emily Dodson and UG man, Mr. Sukrishnalal Pasha. So thank you President Granger and Minister Joseph Harmon and Minister Khemraj Ramjattan who I know personally pushed against much resistance within their own government to make this a reality. Guyana has gained from this process. So one of the 100 Day promise has finally been delivered; better late than never. Now let us get these people an office and put them to work. What next? Constitutional Reform?
