Does Granger know Insanally and Joe Singh are friends?

Dear Editor,
While perusing the daily newspapers yesterday, Thursday 6th October, 2016, I read with utter amusement that H.E. President David Granger has appointed (Retired) Major General Joseph Singh to head the investigations into alleged wrongdoings by GNBA’s board members, Messrs Vic Insanally and Tony Vieira.
Oh Dear, I closed the papers and wondered to myself; “what has happened to us?” Mr. Editor, from the onset, let me categorically state that I hold the Major General in high esteem. What amused me though, is that this good gentleman and Mr. Insanally are good friends.
Up until the recent past, these two fellows lived as each other’s neighbours or, as the Good Book says, each other’s keepers; the Lamaha Gardens Community would admire them as they take their afternoon or morning health walks together. I am also reminded that these two gentlemen attended the prestigious Queen’s College during the same years.
Mr. Editor, for my own understanding; I beg you, please help me understand, how can a friend investigate his friend for alleged wrongdoing?
