The Govt. should buy our BLACK MAGENTA ONE CENT STAMP

Dear Editor,
With your consideration of publishing, I direct this correspondence to the President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, Mr. David Granger. From a correspondence which was authored by Mr. Freddie Kissoon, a short while back via Kaieteur News, I learnt that President Granger is a fan of classical music which was a total shock because I haven’t met or knew of anyone locally with such taste in music. I also inherited a collection of vinyl classic records but unfortunately I don’t have access to a record player to listen to such taste in music.
I believe classical music from yesteryear would fit under the same umbrella with anyone who is a philatelist (stamp collector) because they all make representation of history and are considered collector’s items. They will never reproduce vinyl records or reprint historic/old stamps.
Stamps also make great representation on the subject of geography. With my personal collection, a great lot of my education is a representation of those two subject areas mentioned. It’s also safe to say that we can rope in the Tourism Sector using those items as attractions/tools to educate the masses. A while back, I learnt that the ‘BRITISH GUIANA BLACK MAGENTA 1 CENT STAMP, THE WORLD’S MOST FAMOUS STAMP’ was sold to an anonymous buyer at an auction house and the individual has loaned it to the Smithsonian Institute (Washington, USA) for 3 years to have on display.
Perhaps the President can consult with the current local based US ambassador, Guyana’s foreign representative/Ambassador to New York and The Smithsonian Institute and make an effort to purchase the ‘BLACK MAGENTA 1 CENT STAMP’ from the anonymous owner/buyer and have it returned home to Guyana (Formerly British Guiana.)
