Cyril Potter College is insensitive to trainee teachers

Trainee teachers at the Cyril Potter College of Education are suffering. According to the prospective of the college, students doing the pre-service program, which is, attendance at CPCE between the hours of 9 am to 4 pm, are supposed to be receiving $7500 per month. In service students receive their salaries on a monthly basis because they teach at schools between 9 am to 3 pm and also attend CPCE from 4-6/8 pm.
My issue would be with the payment the pre-service students receive. Instead of receiving $7500, we receive $7080. What does the other $420 go to? NIS that we’re not paying for? Or PAYE that we have to give money to before we start teaching? Also, what can $7080 do? I live in Parfaite Harmonie. My daily passage to get to CPCE Turkeyen is $480. Do the math. It can’t even provide transportation for fifteen days. There are students that have children. Some can barely provide for their children already and come into the institution expecting a little help to do so and are disappointed, especially when we don’t even receive our grant every month.
According to the prospective, students are supposed to receive their grant on a monthly basis, when sometimes we don’t even receive them for two months or more. How are we expected to live? Last but certainly not least, the teachers attending CPCE on the West Bank need their own centre for learning. They are faced daily with the struggle of having to sit on the primary school’s small sized furniture and use their toilets, even though the Ministry of Education Vreed-en-hoop Branch has an enormous land space that can comfortably accommodate a facility that teachers can be able to learn efficiently and effectively.
Teachers are the building blocks of the next generation. Without them, our country would suffer because they’d be no lawyers, doctors, politicians, etc. Giving them a decent salary and a proper learning experience is the least you can do.
