Kennard Memorial TC Post Emancipation Day horserace event set for September 18

Emancipation Day has come and gone and horseracing fans accustomed to the horserace event that grace this period would be happy to hear that their interest have not been totally ignored. To this effect, the Kennard Memorial Turf Club will honour its word to provide the usual entertainment when the executive stages the Post Emancipation Day Horse Race Meet at the club’s Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne Berbice headquarters on Sunday September 18 next.
Seven potentially action packed races are carded for the day and turfites are assured of a day of fun and frolic.
When activities get underway the horses in the L Category will take to the tracks in a race over 5 furlongs for a top prize of $120,000. The three other successive places will receive $60,000, $30,000 and $15,000 respectively. Several other races will grace the tracks with the feature attraction being the race in the A3 & Lower over 7 furlongs. With a lucrative top prize of $1M, the battle for the top prize should provide just the type of excitement race horse lovers crave. The second place finisher will also be tangibly rewarded with a $500,000 cheque, while the two other podium spots receive $250,000 and $125,000 respectively.
There will also be heated action in the D3 Maiden and E and Lower Open category over 7 furlongs, H & Lower over 6 furlongs, K & Lower over 5 furlongs, J1 & Lower over 6 furlongs and the 2 years old comprising of Guyana bred horses over a distance of 5 furlongs.
Horse owners are reminded that the meet is being conducted under the aegis of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority (GHRA) and all applicable rules will be enforced.
Entries close on Sunday September 11 and late entries will not be accommodated.
