Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan released a teenager on $50,000 bail after he appeared before her on a wounding charge.
Anfernee Clonmell, 18, is accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Tarrick Harris with intent to maim, disable, disfigure or cause grievous bodily harm.
The unrepresented Kwakwani resident pleaded not guilty to the allegation.
Police Prosecutor, Deniro Jones, told the court that on the day in question, the parties were playing football when an argument ensued. He said that the defendant became annoyed and cuffed the virtual complainant to the face causing him severe injuries.
Police Prosecutor, Deniro Jones had no objections to pre-trial liberty for Clonmell. Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan subsequently released the teen on bail and bonded him to be on good behaviour until the completion of the matter.
The matter will be called again on August 18, in the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court.
