Man dies after ATV crash
Urban Benjamin, a/k Doon, of Grant Leicester, Lower Pomeroon River and father of two, died in an accident that occurred while he was heading back to his camp on an all-terrain vehicle over the weekend.
The accident occurred at Olive Creek, Upper Mazaruni River, Essequibo.
While details of Benjamin’s death are still not clear, one of his uncles who is a Pastor, disclosed that he learnt that his nephew broke an arm while he was venturing back to his camp.
The dead man’s uncle added that no one had actually witnessed the accident, but the following day Doon’s body was discovered lying next to the ATV.
News of the death swiftly traveled to his family who later ventured to the accident scene. Doon’s body was subsequently removed from the scene and transported to a mortuary in the city for a post mortem examination.
“Doon” is survived by his wife and two young children. He worked as a mechanic operator in the interior.
