Andre Russell led the way for the Jamaica Tallawahs as they beat the Trinibago Knight Riders
by 19 runs at Sabina Park, Kingstown, Jamaica last night. Russell scored an important 44 before returning to take 4-23 to see the Knight Riders off.
Jamaica batted first and lost Skipper and main batsman Chris Gayle for a 0. But Rovman Powell (44) and Kumar Snagakkara (23) led the fight back as they made 158 for 7 off their 20 overs. Kevon Cooper took 3 wickets and Dwayne Bravo 2 for the visitors.
Trinbago Knight Riders struggled in their response despite Hashim Amla 42 and Denesh Ramdin 31 leading their charge, they ended at 139 for 9 when their overs expired. Russell with his 4 wickets and Dale Steyn with 2 -21 along with excellent work in the field saw the Jamaicans go top of the points table.
