Dear Editor;
I wish to notify you that approximately 3 weeks ago I was communicated to by a police officer attached to the Wakenaam Police Station bringing to my attention an administrative illegality of which the officer is currently deeply disturbed over.
The officer expressed unwillingness to make the complaint for fear of victimization from the officers who would have colluded to commit the alleged wrong doing. Editor, I understood clearly what the officer was saying and decided to report what was told to me. I made contact with the Ministry of Public Security and registered the complaint to the individual with responsibilities for Neighbourhood Police Officers at the Personnel Division.
Subsequently another individual came on the telephone and told me that the Deputy Commander of the Division is looking into the matter. Notwithstanding the above, I further wish to register the said mentioned complaint publicly through your medium. The complaint is as follows: A Neighbourhood Police Officer (NPO) submitted a 7 days medical and proceeded on medical leave.
The said officer then left the country via the CJIA on June 27, 2016. The medical leave came to an end on July 7, 2016. As I pen this missive the NPO has not returned from vacation. The administrative illegality is another officer allegedly made a diary entry that the NPO returned to work on July 7 and then proceeded on Annual Leave. I was reliably informed that the Sergeant is preparing a report on the matter.
Editor, the officer that brought this to my attention is claiming that favoritism is practiced at the station and not all NPO are treated equally.
In conclusion I am requesting that this complaint be investigated for it is unfair that such is occurring should it be proven.
