Couple arrested after baby killed
Police attached to the Charity Outpost, Saturday arrested a young Jacklow, Upper Pomeroon River couple for questioning into the death of their four-year-old baby.
The baby was allegedly struck by the woman’s husband during a heated altercation between the couple at the home Friday night.
It is unclear what type of object the child was struck with but according to reports, the couple apparently had an argument which then led to a physical confrontation. The man reportedly armed himself with a heavy object and attempted to hit his wife who used the baby as a shield.
Other reports have suggested that the husband was imbibing alcohol since Sunday. The report added that the man previously threatened his wife that he would kill the baby who he consistently denied fathering.
The couple remains in police custody.
