Dear Editor,
I was employed by Property Protection Agency with Mr Mark Samuels being my employer. As I was unfit for duties due to an illness, I was given forty-two days sick leave which I was paid for. My sickness continued and I was given another fourteen days medical leave which I didn’t get payment for. I was then cleared of my sickness and returned to work but I was made cognizant of my duty. I was not informed of further duties.
Presently I am out of a job. I was employed for eighteen years with the said company paying my taxes and NIS but when I visited the GRA office, I was told that there are no taxes and NIS for me. I did contact my boss but to date I have not received word from him concerning my taxes and NIS. I want to know where are my taxes and NIS which I was paying all the years I was working for the company.
It looks as if Mr. Samuels feels that he could do what he wants with the workers of his company. I am out of a job and Mr Samuels is giving me a very hard time to give an account of deductions. I would like to have a meeting with the Minister of Labour so I could put forward my problems with my boss and my payments because in my opinion he doesn’t have intentions of paying any one who is working with him
