ASK YMCA dojo for IKD Caribbean Karate Championships
The Association do Shotokan Karate (ASK) YMCA dojo will once again be representing Guyana at the 14thInternation Karate Daigaku (IKD) Caribbean Karate Championships, which will be held from the 19th – 23rd July, 2016 in Kingston Jamaica.
The ASK team consists of seasoned medalist Roger Peroune, Keith “The Bulldozer” Beaton, Leah Shariff, Daniel Jailall, Kelly Ann Fortune, Trevon Miller and Jordan Kong. New to the international arena but not strangers to the local karate scene are Avinash Ramgolam, Shakeem Walcott, Hodael Agard, Minakshi Pooran and Tabita Goolsarran. The Team is being lead and trained by Sensei Amir Khouri (6th Dan) and assisted by Sensei Roger Peroune (4th Dan). Both Sensei Khouri and Sensei Peroune are hopeful with the performance of the team based on the current training regimen and also the Dojo’s performance history.
