The Alness Race Track at Alness Corentyne Berbice is expected to come alive today when that entity stages a grand one day horserace meet.
Five races are listed for the day and with prize monies totaling over $1M.
The feature event is for horses classified H and lower with events for horses classified J, K and L among the other events on the day.
A number of horses have taken entry with some of the best runners in the various categories entered to participate.
Reports are despite the inclement weather the track is in good condition and a good day of racing is anticipated.
Among some of the sponsors on board include Jumbo Jet Auto Sales, Attorney at Law Rajendra Poonai, Del-Mar Shipping, Nand Persaud & Company Ltd, Balram Shane and Poonai’s Pharmacy among others. Starting time is 13:00hrs.
