Demerara Life re-launches motor insurance product

In spite of the fact that the insurance industry, both locally and internationally has been facing challenges, the Demerara Fire and General Insurance pleasantly surprised many when it recently re-launched its motor insurance product with new and added benefits.
The event took place yesterday at the Demerara Mutual Board Room.
Demerara Life Insurance is one of oldest insurance companies in Guyana.
It had launched its campaign with its improved auto insurance policy. The insurance company believes that it can no longer allow the profitable car insurance market to go on without playing a vital role.
Marketing Director Clarence Perry at a press conference announced the company’s most competitive auto insurance package. He further stated that the Demerara Mutual Insurance will be offering its 24 hrs, 7 days a week roadside assistance as part of its package. The roadside assistance is expected to be moved into other areas where the company has branches, such as Linden.
Persons who need a jump start or change of tyre will get assistance from auto workmen in the area. However other roadside services could be offered at an additional fee.
The Marketing Officer of Demerara Group made mention of the discount benefits for female drivers. This is where customers must own and drive an insured vehicle, and a fleet discount for customers with two or more vehicles.
And in case of a vehicle replacement, the company will rent a car for the customer for up to fourteen days, but if the customer needs it for more than fourteen days they will have to pay an additional price while repair works are being done.
The company believes that its new package will take on its competitors with no trouble. They also made mention of the windscreen coverage that would allow repairs or replacement to your damaged windscreen.
The Marketing Director also explained that the company is putting more emphasis on the general insurance. He also noted that with about 10,000 new vehicles being added to the roadways annually his company is looking forward for a boost with its insurance package.
It was emphasised that “Comprehensive” coverage in Guyana means, essentially, that the company will indemnify the policyholder against loss or damage of your vehicle.
