Duo accused of chopping man released on bail
Two persons were each ordered to post $50,000 bail after denying a wounding charge when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Adrian Headley, 30, and Meldecia Headley, 20, are accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Bernard Griffith with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm. The incident occurred on June 22.
The complainant in the matter was present in court. It was observed that he had bandages on his right hand. The court was told that Griffith was chopped on the hand by Adrian Headley.
Police Prosecutor, Deniro Jones had no objections to the duo being granted bail. However, he asked that it be set at a substantial amount.
Magistrate McLennan bonded the defendants to be on good behaviour and instructed them to return to court on July 21.
