Jun 22, 2016 Letters
Dear Editor,
After much pain and frustration, I decided to write this letter to address this painful situation. There are houses going up everywhere in Guyana and most people are not able to get a meter, while some may be lucky. Some people’s meters have been taken away for different reasons; charges were made, payments were done, contracts were signed, within 9 days meters will be restored. It is running into several months now and nothing has been done. Every time you ask someone in the office, the reply: They don’t have meters since last year 2015 (when will they get, I don’t know); this is happening all the time. SOMETHING DOESN’T SOUND RIGHT!!
I would like to ask the Relevant Authority to please look into this situation and make sure enough meters are available to all. It is very difficult and frustrating to live without electricity at this time in history (Jubilee of Guyana). There are senior citizens, children and grand children living without electricity for long months. I trust someone will read this letter and it will come to the attention of the Honorable Minister in charge, so something can be done urgently. Thank you.
