Dear Editor,
I wish to express my sympathy to the entire Staff at Kaieteur News for the tragic loss of their beloved staff the late Dale Andrews;a man of great wisdom and wit
of gracious and elegant personality who will be missed for a very long time.Since I am at a loss for words to describe this giant of our soil who I met a few times I
felt compelled as a Poet to express my tribute in a poem below: My tribute follows
How do I write of Dale’s impeccable genius?
God’s silent wind blew you away from us.
A brilliant flower smiling at us each day,
Now you left us all to mourn and pray.
You risk your life to acquire crime news,
Into many hostile places where you choose.
You will never be equal in Kaieteur News History,
Your sudden demise is still a great mystery.
Your name will live on as a dear friend,
God loves you more your soul has no end.
March on great soldier into the heaven’s above,
The angels of heaven rejoice of your great love.
You were like the sea wave that rises and fall,
And now you will be missed by Mr.Glen Lall.
Who mourn for you today for his soul to cry?
Do not mourn Mr.Lall he will never die.
Life is like a clock on the wall,
It ticks and stop we die and fall.
All of us will die someday the rich and poor my friend.
Please live a life to please the Lord before our sudden end.
We are like dreams you see in our sleep at nights,
Then like a sudden mist dreams are gone from our sights.
Our brother Dale Andrews will be missed by all,
God silent whisper gave his dear soul a call.
A flower born and a flower will die,
But our love for you will never die.
Death stole you away on your lonely journey,
Where things will never fade; you have no need of money.
We are all just fictive dreams coming and going,
Let’s live in love and unity death’s wind is blowing.
Blowing for the souls of you and I
As we live for Jesus our souls will never die.
