publications, including three books— Medical Patent Law: The Challenges of Medical Treatment (2011); Commonwealth Caribbean Administrative Law (2012); and Patenting Medical and Genetic Diagnostic Methods (2013).
His next book, Commonwealth Caribbean Intellectual Property Law, will be published in 2017.
Eddie Ventose holds an LL.B. (first class honours) from the University of the West Indies (99’), an LL.M. (first class honours) from the University of Cambridge (00’) and a Doctorate of Philosophy in intellectual property law from the University of Oxford (05’).
He received the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice (04’) and the Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School (08’). He is also qualified Attorney-at-Law with is called to the Bar in Barbados, Saint Lucia and St. Kitts and Nevis.
In admitting him Chief Justice Cummings reminded Professor Ventose of his duty to serve. Professor Ventose expressed his gratitude and stated that he was eager to contribute to Guyana’s legal system.
