As the Guyana Cricket Board/Banks DIH/Digicel National Secondary Schools League continues, players with outstanding performances and those who demonstrated good promise have been earmarked by the selection committee of the league to undergo sessions.
These training sessions will be used to select Combine Elite Teams to represent North Georgetown and East Georgetown in the Combine Elite Phase of the league. North Georgetown, East Georgetown and South Georgetown will play each other once in the Inter Zone Phase of the competition which will be used to select a Georgetown team.
The training sessions to select the North Georgetown and East Georgetown 14- man squads and six reserve players will commence from Tuesday at the GNIC ground in Woolford Avenue and will be conducted by Michael Franco and Clive Grimmond, Edward Nichols with assistance from NSSCL umpires Randy Latiff and Andre Hurry.
The players called for training are: North Georgetown Zone: Devin Shivraj, Mark Ramsammy (School Of the Nations), Herod Moonsamy (St. Stanislaus College), Dodson Greaves (St. Roses), Eric Singh, Michael Pooran, Kempton David (Brickdam Secondary), Romeo Brown (Tucville Secondary), A. Singh (Business School) David Sears, Sachin Ramroop (Bishops), Alphius Boodie, Aaron Beharry, Jonior Phillips (Christ Church), Enos Braitwaite (St. Mary’s), Avinash Boodram, Aditya Prasad, Anthony Singh, Brandon Jaikaran, Clarence Baird, Ronaldo McGowan, Navindra Persaud, Andrew Parshad (Queen’s College), Reaz Ally, Lionel Holder, Omar Hurry, Christopher Campbell, Mark Baptist, Euan Blair, Odide Douglas(Central High School), Joshua Persaud, Dwain Alder, Ashmaed Nedd, Kirk Lovell, Godfrey Phillips, Shemar Bornehit(Chase Academy) Riche Stuart, Sachin Singh, Qumar Torrington (Charlestown Secondary), Entini Permaul, Selah Thomson and Joel Black (St. Georges).
East Georgetown Zone: Kishaun Tracy, Asif Daniels, David Marshall, Ameer Singh, Reshawn Clementson, Adrian Hackett, Zachariah Mootoo, Danesh Ally, Azarodeen Khan, Paul D’ Andrade, De Andre Springer, Kevin Baldeo, Suresh Jairam, Dexter Bobb-Semple (St. Joseph High School), Reon Rodrigues, Brandon Matthews, Joel Spooner, Christian Hamilton, Devon Allen (Tutorial High School), Nkosi Beaton, Daniel Paul, Afelie Henry (North Georgetown Secondary), a selected number of Queenstown Secondary School students shall also attend.
The North Georgetown Zone will train on Tuesday 2 February 2016, Wednesday 3 February 2016 and Monday 8 February 2016.
The East Georgetown Zone will train on Thursday 4 February 2016, Friday 5 February 2016 and Tuesday 9 February 2016.
The 50 Overs Inter Zone Combine Elite match between North Georgetown and East Georgetown will be played on Friday 12 from 09:00 hours at the Everest Cricket Club ground. The winner will then play the South Georgetown Zone on Friday 19 at the said venue.
