NY charitable organisation gives to West Dem seniors
Several senior citizens were the beneficiaries when the Windsor Forest New York (WFNY) Association distributed hampers just in time for the Christmas season.
The seniors who benefited from the food hamper presentations during the holidays.
A total of 105 hampers were donated to seniors believed to be in need, when they turned up at the Windsor Forest Community Centre.
Residents, mainly from Nouvelle Flanders La Jalousie Village District, were presented with hampers laden with various food items. On hand to make the presentations to the seniors was Naro Bali, Director of the Association, and other volunteers from the village.
The endowment to the seniors is an annual activity which is arranged by members of the WFNY Association and villagers living in the New York area.
This is just one of the efforts of the Association to give to the West Coast Demerara area.
Over the past 15 years the Association had undertaken various projects including, but not limited to, annual scholarship grants, setting up of a nursery school playground, upgrading of schools and health centre facilities, among others.
The Association’s work, however, could not have been possible without the dedicated effort of its Directors, and villagers who supported the food hamper distribution exercise and the many other programmes.
