Pooranmall wins GDA final tourney for year
The Guyana Draughts Association (GDA) successfully concluded its final competition for the year on Sunday last at the National Gymnasium. The game was played on the International 100 square boards which saw some high class performances from all the players as five food hampers were up for grabs.
Khemraj Pooranmall was awarded the first place with 9 points while Ulric Brathwaite followed with a close 8 points. Jiaram and Steve Bacchus ended third and fourth respectively with 7 points each.
A nail biting tie breaker between Navin Meighbarran and Floyd Cumberbatch with 6 points each saw Cumberbatch taking the nod. The GDA President is expressing thanks the following persons for donating the hampers – Randolph Gibbs of Pharma Choice Drug Store, Ramroop Jiwanram of AR Printery Bel Air, DeSinco Trading, and Joshua Jiwanram Fish Processor.
