Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and Police played to a draw when their Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Noble House Sea Foods second division two-day game concluded yesterday at Eve Leary.
Batting a second time, GDF were 136-7 off 28 overs at stumps on the final day. Marcus Watkins struck a fluent 59 not out with eight fours and two sixes, while Leon Andrew made 27 and Colvis Sam 22. Pacer Darson La Rose bowled impressively to take 5-58 for the home team.
Earlier, GDF were bowled out for 146 in 47.3 overs in their first innings. Watkins and Damion Whitney made 29 apiece while Andrew got 25 as Mark Robe captured 4-16, Eon Rodrigues 3-45 and La Rose 2-22.
On Saturday, Police scored 289, batting first. Reginald Rodrigues stroked 91, Daniel Barker 50 and Troy Benn 34. Jason Garraway bagged 5-54 for the visitors.
