The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) yesterday signaled its intentions to work

with the David Granger government, offering its congratulations to A Partnership for National Unity and Alliance For Change (APNU+AFC) for its victory.
GT&T’s Chief Executive Officer, Radha Krishna Sharma, congratulated President Granger, in particular, for creating an effective coalition that delivered an “historic victory”.
“I take this opportunity also, to commend the APNU+AFC and the outgoing PPP administration for accomplishing a swift and orderly transition of power. On behalf of GT&T, I want to extend our support for President Granger and the APNU+AFC as they work to advance peace, national unity and economic development.”
GT&T said it looks forward to deepening its partnership with the people and with the Government, and working with the new leaders to accelerate Guyana’s growth and development.
The telecoms industry, under the previous administration, is facing liberalization to allow new players, but the process has been delayed.
