The East Coast segment of the Guinness ‘Greatest of de Streets’ Competition has reached its semi-final stage and while another massive crowd is expected, the final outcome of the two games are up for debate this

In the night’s feature contest, former title holders and unbeaten Plaisance ‘A’ go up against BV ‘A’ and this encounter is expected to produce fireworks, especially when the former talisman Warren Gilkes go up against BV ‘A’ amulet Delroy Deen.
Plaisance ‘A’ should go into this game full of confidence, having looked impressive throughout the tournament to date and also with the added incentive of having beaten their opponents at the same stage when they went on to win the title.
Gilkes has been in prolific form since the start of competition, scoring in every game and is the leading goalscorer with four goals from as many matches.
He will have as support Carlos Matthews and Kester Green whose contributions of two goals apiece have been critical in the team’s conquest of every opposition to date.
BV ‘A’ is no pushover either and apart from Deen, Akin Curry and Quacey Price have shown what a potent strike force they could be as well.
In the night’s opener, giant killers Nabaclis that slew defending champ Melanie ‘A’ in their previous encounter faces Melanie ‘B’ in what could turn out to be another fascinating clash.
They must be feeling confident after dispatching a strong Melanie ‘A’ unit and should they come out with similar intent which was to attack the ball then Melanie ‘B’ will be in for a rough time.
Carlos Kingston and quarterfinal hero Akamo Jack will be looking to duplicate their earlier performances and should that occur then there is a strong possibility that one of the most unlikely teams’ could be seen in the final.
Melanie ‘B’ strength lies in its defence which has shown enough potency to scare any team and there is no doubt that this area will be the relied upon to make the championship round.
They are yet to concede a goal in the tourney after four engagements.
Amunike Rodgers being their top scorer with two goals, but as has been stated before, unless the defence shows up then a long night is in store for them.
The winning team will take home $300,000 and the championship trophy, while the runner-up carts off $150,000, 3rd place- $100,000 and 4th place- $75,000.
The two top teams will represent the East Coast at the national finals.
