Fifty West Berbicians recently completed an Information Technology training programme and featured in a graduation exercise at the Regional Boardroom, Fort Wellington, West Coast Berbice.

The Best Graduating Student was Azim Inshan. Other students, who received trophies and prizes, were Stephanie Frank- Sampson, for being the Most Improved Student; and Sherry Ann Loo, for being the Most Persevering Student.
The programme was funded by Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF). Classes were held at the Fairfield Community Centre Ground, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, and at Bath Settlement.
The courses spanned a six-week period. Classes were held at both the Fairfield Community Centre Ground from November 26 to December 19, 2015 and at the Bath Skills Training Center from November 3 to December 12, 2015.
The participants completed training in Introduction to Computers; Hardware/Software, Viruses, Microsoft Office; Basic Internet; email and Basic Trouble Shooting.

Dr. Ashni Singh, the Minister of Finance, addressed the graduation ceremony. Also present at the event were Mr. Clyde Roopchand – Chief Planning Officer; and other officials from the Ministry of Finance, including Mr. Bernard Lord- Chairman of the Oversight Entity of BNTF; and Regional officials, including Region Five Chairman, Mr. Bindraban Bisnauth.
Project Manager, Mr. Michael Singh and the Community Liaison Officer were also present.
