Porkknocker shot in arm, beaten by bandits
A porkknocker was gun-butted and shot once in his forearm, by one of three bandits who intercepted and robbed

him at Punt Trench Dam, Independence Boulevard, on Monday morning.
According to the victim, 21-year-old Ronald Sackoon, the incident occurred around 05:00 hours while he was waiting to catch a bus to go home.
The Zeelugt, West Coast Demerara resident said that he had just left a friend’s home in Albouystown where he had spent the night.
Sackoon said that he was approached from behind by the three bandits, who pounced on him and immediately started to beat him. He said that the beating went on for approximately a minute, before he was gun-butted to his face, shot in his left forearm and robbed of a gold ring, BlackBerry Z 10 cellular phone, a pair of “Clarks” desert boots and $17 000 cash.
The man said that he was “shocked” after the incident, and did not even know he was shot until public spirited citizens came to his rescue shortly after.
Sackoon said that he was rushed in a taxi to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he received treatment for the wounds. The matter was reported at the GPHC police outpost and investigations are ongoing.
