The accident which occurred around 20:30 hours, resulted in the death of Carol Overton of Barnwell North, Mocha, EBD.
According to a police press release yesterday, Overton was walking along the road when she was struck by a motor-car. She was immediately rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the motor-vehicle is in police custody, assisting with investigations, the police said.
