He has travelled worldwide, procuring numerous accolades for his beloved country,
Guyana. His most recent feat occurred in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he placed 2nd in the World Bodybuilding Championships. Despite such a strong nationalistic act, Hugh Arlington Ross has failed in his bid to garner adequate funding to continue his exploits.
Yesterday morning, CEO of Mohamed’s Enterprise, Lombard Street, Stabroek, Nazar Mohamed, proved the exception to the rule when he presented the local bodybuilder with a cheque valued US$2000. The simple handing over ceremony occurred at Mr. Mohamed’s business place and Mr. Ross expressed profound gratitude to his benefactor.
“Mr. Ross has made Guyana proud and I unhesitatingly agreed to render this support in recognition of his nationalism,” explained Mr. Mohamed moments after the gift had exchanged hands. He then issued a call to other members of the corporate community to follow his lead.
Mr. Ross thanked his benefactor while noting that this is not the first time that Mr. Mohamed had extended such corporate assistance. “I am also aware that (Mr. Mohamed) has reached out to many other sports personalities and I’d like to join him and issue a call to other entrepreneurs to reach out to the sports community in our quest to serve our country,” beseeched Mr. Ross.
