Demerara Queens FC blown into operation in Linden
A new female football club to address the increasing needs of women’s development, has been inaugurated in the Bauxite Mining Town of Linden.
Demerara Queens Football Club
The persons behind the formation of this new club are former National player Ms. Akilah Castello and former Youth Nationals Keiron Cameron and Andray Chester; the trio came together and decided to pool their technical resources to bring the club into being.
The name of the club is Demerara Queens Football Club and already, they have approximately 35 members on register, all under nineteen years old and the majority attending secondary school. The home ground is Bayrock, Wismar.
Serving as the President is Akilah Castello with Secretary being Keiron Cameron, Executive Committee Member is Andrew Chester. The other executive members will be named shortly.
According to a release, the aim of the club is to develop female football in Linden by teaching the young players everything about the sport whilst creating an opportunity for them to occupy their free time in a productive manner.
Demerara Queens FC will also work towards making their members rounded individuals so they can be assets to society.
