Entries pour in for Rising Sun Turf Club Independence Cup Horserace meet…
Preparations have almost been completed for the Rising Sun Turf Club one day horserace meet in collaboration with the People’s Progressive Party set for this Sunday 25th May at the Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park, West Coast Berbice.
The seven race meet has so far attracted over 60 entries with most of the top horses set to compete for the $4M in prize money which will be available in cash and trophies.
The event has races to cater for everyone and is expected to see an exhilarating day of racing unfold. There are a number of top notch events carded for the day which includes events for A and lower; E and D maiden and lower, the 3yr old classic for horses born and bred in the Guyana and the West Indies. There is also the F class event and the race for G3 and lower horses.
The A class event has so far attracted some of the best horses in the country with Score’s Even set to return. With Treacle also set to run, a ding down battle is expected as the others will also be aiming for the coveted prize.
Among the lot set to race are Score’s Even, Treacle, California Strike, Run Nana Run, Rock Movie Star, Red and Lovely and Force Entry among others as they battle for the $1M first prize and the General Secretary trophy over 1400M.
Among other entries so far are Swing Easy, Appealing Harvest, Cat Messiah, Damascus Dream, Unsettled, Home Bush Baby, Royal Empire, IT’s My Turn, Fresh Again, C.P Got Even, Force Entry, Gold Rush, Ameera Joy, Cassie, Silent Night, Miss Doubt Fire, Week End Surprise, Rosetta, Easy To Win, Moonsoon, Ser For Fame, Bridal Stone Corner, Prince Bayaya, Iron man, Famous Pride, Princess Alicia, Savion, Red Cloud, Shooting Star, Smarty Light, Set For Fame, Party Time and Mary Ann among others.
The other events listed for the day are for horses classified D3 and lower for those that have not won in 2014 and those classified E and lower for a winning take of $500,000 and trophy over 1400M, the Three year Guyana and West Indies Bred animals will be racing for a top prize of $400,000 over 1400M.
Incentive for the winner in the F1 and lower 1400M event is also worth $400,000. The G3 class 1100M race will see the winner taking away the $300,000 first prize and trophy.
Racing fans will see the top ‘I’ class horses racing for a winning take of $200,000 and trophy over 1100M. The J1 class horses 1100M sprint has a winner’s prize of $180,000 and trophy.
With so much on offer a scintillating and action packed day of racing is anticipated. The top individual performers will be presented with accolades compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall Bourda Market.
