Dear Editor,
As I read every day your online edition, I get the impression that this is it for Guyana and as we in Hinduism say “Kal Yug” (Hope the Hindu scholars would not pounce upon me for incorrect spelling.)
I had to stop and check yesterday though whether I was reading the Kaieteur News when I read Pastor Vanrick Beresford’s letter. I thought, wow we do have good, intelligent and noble people in Guyana . I got a thread of hope instantly to start thinking about returning again. Yes I say again because when you read, hear and talk Guyana from a far, you can’t help but get this bitter taste in your mouth.
This is not something anyone would like to feel of their home land. I work for the Royal Bank here in Toronto and every three months we have to mandatory take the Anti Money Laundering, Anti Bribery and Anti Corruption among other courses. I would also say there are only a couple of countries that you can’t send a wire or trade with. I do hope that I would not see Guyana in that category. Although I heard that Citigroup has Guyana on that list. Sudesh Deen
