Dear Editor,
Permit me to respond to BISHOP EDGHILL’S call for “discipline” in our country. I am surprised that a Bishop and not a pawn would make reference to the Chief Citizen Hamilton Green being indiscipline in not paying his taxes. Oh come on! Why go on Hammie’s back at his age? Jump on the young businessmen and some politicians in Georgetown and elsewhere who are stealing electricity and evading taxes.
Mr. Editor, being disciplined also means one should not steal from the treasury of the State. Being disciplined also means that one must show respect for his brother, be he black or white, young or old. Being disciplined means one must not go around using his firearm to intimidate and to kill his brother. Being disciplined means one must not be corrupt in his transactions. Being disciplined means one should get married, as marriage is Honourable in the sight of God and anything else contrary to that before marriage is a sin. BAM! BAM!
When you try to rule in favour of a few, that is not discipline; it is hate and a form of indiscipline.
Discipline in a home starts from the top. You must practice what you preach. We are waiting to see discipline from our leaders in this country. Kenneth Chance, Member of UNAG
