Little Diva Flames Football Club commence training programme
Little Diva Flames Football Club commenced training last Saturday 12th Oct 2013 at the GFC Ground under the tutelage of Coaches Joseph “Bill” Wilson and Sheron “Sherry” Abrams. National Player Vurlon Mills was also present and he assisted the coaches in the session.
The girls were taken through various drills such as heading, trapping, passing, taking on their chest and dribbling. They were also taught the drills of warming up and cooling down.
In attendance were President – Lawrence Griffith, Vice President Dr George Norton and newly appointed Treasurer Mr Aubrey Henry.
After the session the girls were given some pep talks from the Executives who thanked them for coming out to training. They were told that once they are dedicated, disciplined and committed they can become National Players and become role model and household names. They were advised to keep studying and once they are academically qualified they can earn football scholarship overseas.
Training session will continue every Saturday at the GFC Ground commencing at 09:00 hrs. Because of most of the girls are preparing for CXC, some were absent on Saturday last and the Coaches and Executives are toying with the idea of training on weekdays with Tuesday’s being considered.
