Dear Editor,
I observed the most disgusting occurrence last Wednesday where Mayor of Georgetown Hamilton Green misused a funeral service for his own political objection. In the process he sought to mislead mourners on the vending situation in Georgetown under his stewardship. It was quietly disgusting and inappropriate, especially since the deceased was not a politician or had no interest in politics even though she played a role in addressing issues which affected vendors with primary responsibility for the cleanliness and beautification of the area in which she vended.
Mr. Green’s presentation may have received a better review had he used the occasion to enlighten those in attendance who were mostly Citizens of Georgetown of efforts to clean up the garbage in the environs of the Church and other parts of the City, among the plethora of other ills existing in Georgetown.
Imagine this is someone who advocates moral and spiritual revival and uses the church to mislead people in a deliberate manner. God help us! Kwame Mc Coy
